Sakai Fish Farm - Scorpion - Showa

Super powerful Sakai Scorpion Showa. Unbelievable how this one's grown out, just head and shoulders above the others.

The reason for the reduced price is that this was one of my top fish that was continuing to grow through to Sansai. It's got quite a more traditional Showa body line, but that's not stopping it piling the weight on. Like I said, it's raced on above and beyond all the other ones. This has been on heavy food, so it's a little exaggerated at the moment.

You might see in the pectoral fin that, at some point as a young fish, it was split and it hasn't grown back perfectly formed at the moment, but there's still time for that to change. All in all, it's a very pleasing Showa. It's super powerful, there's going to be a lot of growth to come. The sumi's held up well, even in the heat, and the pattern is very nicely balanced, with a big change still to come on the head. Plenty of quality there.
