We've just completed one of the biggest investments we've made in the platform to date — a full rebuild of the technology that powers everything you see and do on Ricky Stoddart Nishikigoi. Most of this work happens out of sight, but we wanted to share what's changed, because you'll feel the difference every time you log in, browse a listing, or join a live sale.

Built for the busy moments

We've moved the platform onto enterprise-grade, professionally managed cloud infrastructure. In plain terms, the systems running your platform are now hosted on some of the most robust technology available — which frees us to spend our time improving your experience rather than maintaining servers.

The biggest benefit is that the platform now scales itself automatically. When lots of you are online at once — think Sunday night, with a sale in full flow — it expands its own capacity in the background to keep everything running smoothly. No slowdowns at the very moment things get exciting.

Photos that load in an instant

Koi are a visual thing, and the images matter. We've changed the way photos and videos are delivered so they now come straight from a dedicated storage system instead of being routed through the main server. The result is quicker-loading images, faster listings, and a smoother browse.

Live sales that keep up with you

The real-time heart of the platform — live bids, bid notifications, and new listings appearing the instant they go live — now runs on our own dedicated real-time engine, hosted right alongside the rest of the platform. That means bids and updates come through faster and more reliably, so you're always seeing the latest as it happens.

Everything above adds up to a platform that's faster, more stable, and ready to grow. We have a great deal planned, and this work lays the foundation for it.
